About Nicola Norrie Celebrant and Marriage Officer

Hello! I’m Nicola Norrie, Celebrant and Marriage Officer with Celebrants Scotland. After a successful and rewarding 25-year corporate career, I decided it was time for a new adventure—so in 2020, I swapped office life for officiating and spreadsheets for ceremonies. Best decision ever.

Every ceremony I create is as unique as the people at its heart. Whether I’m welcoming a new life, honouring cherished memories, or celebrating love, I bring warmth, empathy, and a dash of creativity to every ceremony. My job is all about storytelling, gathering your thoughts, memories, and wishes to craft uplifting and memorable tributes. (And don’t worry, I promise not to start with “Once upon a time…” unless you really want me to!)

I’m passionate about supporting couples and families through life’s big milestones. As a Marriage Officer, I have the privilege of officiating legal wedding ceremonies making sure each celebration is tailored to your story and filled with joy, love, and maybe even a happy tear or two.

Home is near the beautiful Loch Lomond in Alexandria, where I live with my husband and our two wonderful children, Emily and Iain. Family time is precious so we always make the most of it although, if you’re ever looking for me on the weekends I’m not working, I’ll probably be standing freezing at the side of a rugby pitch, cheering on the kids of the Loch Lomond Rugby Club where I also serve as Club Secretary.

When I do get a rare quiet moment, you’ll find me lost in an audiobook (I’m always looking for recommendations), rewatching Harry Potter for the hundredth time, or catching up with friends over good food (because calories don’t count when you’re laughing).
